Fire Extinguisher Inspections

The fire extinguisher section allows administration to help clients to create and record a fire extinguisher inspection. Fire extinguisher inspections can be created from scratch or from a company fire extinguisher inspection. Job Sites can be setup to require employees to complete fire extinguisher inspections.

Since each job site is different, RTPro allows a field staff to setup a specific fire extinguisher inspection for each job site. Each Fire Extinguisher Inspection for a job site is set up with a number of sections; basic information, then fire extinguisher details.

R & T Electrics Smartphone application allows field staff to complete fire extinguisher inspections in the field and submit them to the system. For information about completing a fire extinguisher inspection through the Smartphone click here.

Once a fire extinguisher inspection is submitted:

  1. An email can be sent to the person in charge of the fire extinguisher inspections. (For more information about email alerts check the email alerts section of the manual)
  2. R & T Electrics Statistics are updated for number of fire extinguisher inspections completed for companies, customers, and jobsites.

Configuring Jobsite Fire Extinguisher Inspection requirement

Job Sites come in all shapes and sizes especially in the service business, it just might not be practical for field staff to complete fire extinguisher inspection for every job site they visit. SafetyNet allows clients to customize their system to their business situation. To this end R & T Electrics allows administrators to help clients configure Job Sites to require or not to require fire extinguisher inspections. Creating Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection for Jobsites

The Company Fire Extinguisher Inspections section allows companies to develop the fire extinguisher inspections documents, without having to carry out a fire extinguisher inspection. 1.Search Fire Extinguisher Inspection

Fire extinguisher inspections can be searched by a combination of customer and submission status. Users can narrow search results by choosing any combination of the two search criteria.

All search results can be sorted by clicking on the results headings Date, Job Site Name, and Address. Clicking on the same heading can do switching the results order from ascending to descending.

2.Delete Fire Extinguisher Inspection

Deleting fire extinguisher inspections may have to be done if the fire extinguisher inspection was added to the system incorrectly. Only fire extinguisher inspections that have not been reviewed by management can be deleted.

To delete a fire extinguisher inspections click the "Delete" link of the fire extinguisher inspection you want to delete.

3.Look up Fire Extinguisher Inspection

To get to the edit screen of a fire extinguisher inspection, click on the date of the fire extinguisher inspection that you would like to edit.

To view the html version fire extinguisher inspection report in click on the "Html view" link of the fire extinguisher inspection you would like to view.

From each html view you can also open the PDF version of the report by clicking on the PDF link on the top of the page.

To view a printable document file (PDF) view of the fire extinguisher inspection report, click on the "PDF view" link of the appropriate fire extinguisher inspection report.

4.Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection for Job Site

To add a Fire Extinguisher Inspection, click on the "Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection" link.

On the next screen, under Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection heading, select:

Job Site By selecting a job site from the select box, which loads with a customer's name and then the jobsite name users can choose which jobsite they want to create a fire extinguisher inspection for. NOTE: To narrow down the numbers of jobsites to choose from use the "Search Customer on Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection" function.

Inspected By: By selecting a employee from the inspected by select box users can choose whom conducted the fire extinguisher inspection. On the add fire extinguisher inspection you can choose any active employee from the company.

Then click the "Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection" button. The edit fire extinguisher inspection screen will load. From here, proceed to edit as per the instructions below.

5.Search Customer on Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection

While on the "Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection for Jobsite" screen, Under the Search Customer on Add Fire Extinguisher Inspections heading choose a customer:

Customer: The Customer select box is populated with companies' customers.

Click the "Search Jobsites" button. The Job Site select box on the Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection section will load with only the jobsites of the selected customer.

6.Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection From Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection

As with every other facet of SafetyNet, the fire extinguisher inspection section was built with the ability to work with the paper work you have already produced in the past. Saving valuable time and sharing valuable knowledge your company has already collected in the past. Fire Extinguisher Inspections created in the field in the past can become the standard or company fire extinguisher inspections for a given site, so instead of your field staff having to spend a lot of time writing out a entire fire extinguisher inspection, they can spend their time making sure the current company fire extinguisher details match the current situation. In the case of fire extinguisher inspections the location of fire extinguishers on a job site may not be very obvious where they are located thru out the site, furthermore as work changes on a site fire extinguisher locations and fire extinguishers types may change, so it important that these inspections are completed on a regular basis.

To add a fire extinguisher inspection from company fire extinguisher inspection click on the "Add new Fire Extinguisher Inspection from Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection" link.

On the next screen the ���Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection��� will load, with a listing Job site names��� and site addresses, clicking the "Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection" link for a company Fire Extinguisher Inspection record, will create a new fire extinguisher inspection for the jobsite with all of the information from the Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection.

To view the html version of the company fire extinguisher inspection: click on the html link on the record line.

To view the PDF version of the company fire extinguisher inspection by clicking on the PDF link on the record line.

To narrow down the numbers of company fire extinguisher inspections to choose from use the "Search Customer on Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection" function.

7.Search Customer on Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection

While on the "Add New Fire Extinguisher Inspection from Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection" screen, Under the Search Customer on Add Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection heading choose a customer:

Customer The Customer select box is populated with companies' customers.

Click the "Search Jobsites" button the company fire extinguisher inspections, the company fire extinguisher inspections for the selected customer's jobsites will load.

8.Edit Fire Extinguisher Inspection

Click on the date link to the left of the Job Site Name.

On the next screen the Fire Extinguisher Inspection for the job site will load.

Fields

Date: The fire extinguisher inspection date is the day the site orientation was carried out. The format of this field is YYYY-MM-DD.

Inspected By: By selecting a employee from the inspected by select box users can choose whom conducted the fire extinguisher inspection.

Click the "Save Fire Extinguisher Inspection" button to ensure that any information changed is saved in the system.

9.Add or Edit Fire Extinguisher Inspection Details

The fire extinguisher inspection detail section allows users to add or edit the fire extinguisher inspection details of a jobsite. Fire Extinguisher inspection details are the actual fire extinguisher that are located on the job site and what the type and size of fire extinguisher are in each location.

For each fire extinguisher inspection detail, inspector should be looking at the fire extinguisher making sure the are located in the right locations and are the size and type of fire extinguisher correct. They should also confirm that the recharge date on the extinguisher is still up to date and that Pin is still securely in place. Any deficiencies or concerns can be recorded in the notes section.

To add a new detail click, the "Add Fire Extinguisher Inspection Detail".

To load a detail to edit, click on the detail.

Once the add or edit screen

Fields

Location: Allows the user to input the location of the fire extinguisher. It may not be obvious when working on a large site where every fire extinguisher is located a simple description of where a fire extinguisher is located can go a long way in making inspections meaningful. The character limit of this field is 250.

Fire Extinguisher Description: Allows the user to input specific information about the fire extinguisher such as fire extinguisher classification. The character limit of this field is 250.

Size: Allows the user to input the size of the fire extinguisher.

Fire Extinguisher Type: Allows the user to select the fire extinguisher type.

Recharged Date: Allows the user to input the date the fire extinguisher was recharged on. The format of this field is "YYYY-MM-DD" and will not accept any other format.

Has Pin: Allows a user to select if the fire extinguisher has a pin. The default setting is yes.

Notes: Allows the user to input notes about the condition or deficiencies of the fire extinguisher. If Requires attention is selected from the condition field a note must entered describing what requires attention. The character limit of this field is 250.

Condition: Allows the user to select the condition of the fire extinguisher. The default setting is Satisfactory.

Once the necessary information has been input, click the "Save Detail" button.

10.Submitting Fire Extinguisher Inspection

Once a fire extinguisher inspection has been completed, it must be submitted for review by management. To do this, click on the "Submit Fire Extinguisher Inspection" button.

11.Reviewing Fire Extinguisher Inspection

Once a fire extinguisher inspection has been submitted, management or supervisory staff should review and sign off that the fire extinguisher inspection has been completed properly and that issues found can be brought to the attention of the proper personnel.

12.Set Fire Extinguisher Inspection as Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection

Once management has reviewed a fire extinguisher inspection, they have the opportunity to transfer the fire extinguisher inspection details to company fire extinguisher inspection details for the given job site.

Be careful using this function, because there is no way to reverse the changes made once the button is pressed.

Users may use this function if the fire extinguisher inspection contains better or more current information about the site.

To set the fire extinguisher inspection as the new company site orientation click the "Set Fire Extinguisher Inspection as Company Fire Extinguisher Inspection" button.
