The vehicle inspection section allows administration to help clients to input the results of a driver's
vehicle inspection report. The vehicle inspection can be setup to be done on a
daily, weekly or monthly basis. The vehicle inspection is set up in a number of
sections; basic information, the visual check, operational inspection, emergency
preparedness checks, exterior damage and windshield damage drawings.
R & T Electrics Smartphone application allows field staff to complete vehicle inspections
in the field and submit them to the system. For information about completing a vehicle

Once a vehicle inspection is submitted:
- An email can be sent to the person in charge of the vehicle management.

- If there are tasks on the vehicle inspection marked as requiring attention a maintenance report is created for that vehicle.
- Safety Net Statistics are updated for number of vehicle inspections completed for companies, employees, and vehicles.
- Safety Net Statistics are updated for number of kilometers driven for companies and vehicles.
Configuring Safety Net Vehicle Inspection task lists
On a Vehicle Inspection there are 3 sections of lists that companies must maintain. They are Visual Inspection Tasks, Operational Inspection Tasks and Emergency Preparedness Inspection Tasks. These three sections make up the
majority of the Vehicle inspection. Administration help clients choose tasks from the list of Safety Net?s default vehicle inspection tasks or add their own tasks to tailor their inspection to their companies needs.

Setting up Employees as Primary Drivers for Vehicles
Company Vehicles and employees can be configured to manage and track whom is the primary driver of specific company vehicles. For each vehicle a primary driver is assigned.
Administration can help clients edit primary drivers of company vehicles.

1.Search Vehicle Inspections |
|
Vehicle Inspections can be searched by a combination of the company vehicles; company employees and or months the reports were created in. Users can narrow search results by choosing any combination of the three search criteria.
All search results can also be sorted by clicking on the results headings Inspection Date, Vehicle Code, Vehicle Description, License Plate, Inspected by and Odometer Reading. Clicking on the same heading can do switching the results order from ascending to descending.

2.Delete a Vehicle Inspection |
|
Deleting vehicle inspections may have to be done if the report is corrupted or if the vehicle inspection was added to the system incorrectly. Only vehicle inspections that have not been reviewed by management can be deleted.
To delete a vehicle inspection click the "Delete" link of the vehicle inspection you want to delete.

3.Add Vehicle Inspection |
|
To add a Vehicle Inspection, click on the "Add Vehicle Inspection" link.
On the next screen, select:
Fields
Vehicle: By selecting a vehicle from the vehicle select box users can choose which vehicle will be inspected.
Inspected By: By selecting a employee from the inspected by select box users can choose whom inspected the vehicle.

Then click the "Add Vehicle Inspection" button. The edit vehicle inspection screen will load. From here, proceed to edit as per the instructions below.

4.Look up a Vehicle Inspection |
|
To get to the edit screen of a vehicle inspection, click on the date of the vehicle inspection that you would like to edit.
To view an html view of the vehicle inspection report click on the 'Html view' link of the appropriate vehicle inspection report.
To view a printable document file (PDF) view of the vehicle inspection report click on the 'PDF view' link of the appropriate vehicle inspection report.

5.Edit Vehicle Inspection details |
|
In the edit vehicle inspection details section the following fields can be edited:
Fields
Vehicle: By selecting a vehicle from the vehicle select box users can change which vehicle had been inspected.
Inspected By: By selecting a employee from the inspected by select box users can change whom inspected the vehicle.
Inspection Date: The inspection date is the day the vehicle inspection was carried out. The format of this field is YYYY-MM-DD.
Registration and Insurance: The registration and Insurance select box allows users to mark if the vehicle inspected has a valid copy of both the registration and insurance.
Odometer Reading: The odometer reading of the vehicle at the time of the vehicle inspection. The value is to be saved as a number.
Notes: Any special notes about the vehicle inspection can be written in this section. The character limit of this field is 500.

Click the "Save Vehicle Inspection" button to ensure that any information changed is saved in the system.

6.Edit Visual Inspection Task details |
|
To edit the visual inspection tasks, click on the "Load Edit Visual Inspection Tasks" button. This will load
all of the visual inspection tasks for the vehicle inspection. For up to 20 visual inspection tasks the task
description will be displayed. The following fields can be changed for each task:

Checked Status: Each task can be marks as Not Checked, Satisfactory or Requires Actions, change the value by selecting from the select box.
Comments: A comment about the deficiency that requires attention. The character limit of this field is 250.

7.Edit Operational Inspection Task details |

To edit the operational inspection tasks, click on the "Load Edit Operational Inspection Tasks" button. This will load
all of the operational inspection tasks for the vehicle inspection. For up to 20 operational inspection tasks the task
description will be displayed. The following fields can be changed for each task:

8.Edit Emergency Preparedness Inspection Task details |

To edit the emergency preparedness inspection tasks, click on the "Load Edit Emergency Preparedness Inspection Tasks" button. This will load all of the emergency preparedness inspection tasks
for the vehicle inspection. For up to 20 emergency preparedness inspection tasks the task description will be displayed. The following fields can be changed for each task:

Once all emergency preparedness inspection tasks information has been entered, click on the "Save Emergency Preparedness Inspection Tasks" button to ensure that any information changed is saved in the system.

9.Submitting Vehicle Inspection |
|
Once a vehicle Inspection has been completed, it must be submitted for review by management. To do this, click on the "Submit Vehicle Inspection" button.
An email will be sent to the employee in charge of vehicles if the vehicle inspection email alert has been set up for the company in Safety Net.

10.Reviewing Vehicle Inspection |
|
Once a vehicle inspection has been submitted management or a supervisor
should review and sign off that vehicle inspections have been completed
properly and that issue found can be brought to the attention of management. Administration can help clients review vehicle inspections.
- The vehicle inspection were completed properly.
- The issues found have been accounted for and dealt with.
Once a vehicle Inspection has been completed, it must be reviewed by management. To do this
- Select the employee from the select box who reviewed the vehicle inspection
- Click on the "Submit Vehicle Inspection" button.
An email can be sent to the employee in charge of vehicle maintenance thru the email alert section of safety net.
